Regulatory sandboxes are becoming an increasingly relevant topic in Croatia, but there is still a lack of practical experience and a clear vision of how to implement them in practice.
Thanks to the Secondment Programme for data protection supervisory authorities, established by the European Data Protection Board (EDPB) and the European Data Protection Supervisor (EDPS), the Croatian Personal Data Protection Agency (AZOP) has the opportunity to collaborate with Anne Eidsaa Hamre from the Norwegian Data Protection Authority. The EDPB Secondment Program aims to facilitate staff exchanges between data protection authorities, the EDPS and the EDPB Secretariat. This program is designed to foster cooperation and knowledge sharing among the data protection authorities from European Economic Area.
The Norwegian authority has been running regulatory sandbox projects for the past three years and holds the most extensive practical experience in this area.
The Agency invites all interested participants to a free webinar, where Anne Eidsaa Hamre from the Norwegian Data Protection Authority will share her extensive knowledge and experience with regulatory sandboxes in Norway.

The aim of the Norwegian regulatory sandbox is to foster innovation that enhances privacy protection and to support responsible digitalisation, particularly in the area of artificial intelligence. Over the past three years, its focus has been on projects involving the development and deployment of AI systems.
The Norwegian DPA offers free, tailored expert guidance to participating organisations in exchange for full transparency, helping them develop responsible, ethical, and legally compliant data protection solutions.
The insights and experiences gathered through this process are also used to develop practical guidance for other stakeholders and to strengthen the capacity of supervisory authorities in addressing the challenges of a rapidly evolving technological landscape.
