Quiz “Learn to Protect Your Own and Others’ Personal Data” for Lower Primary School Students

The Director of the Agency, Zdravko Vukić, together with his associates, presented the quiz for children, “Learn to Protect Your Own and Others’ Personal Data,” to 4th-grade students at Rapska Elementary School. The quiz, created by the Personal Data Protection Agency, is intended for lower primary school students, primarily those in 3rd to 5th grade.

Duck Đuro, named by the students of Rapska Elementary School, leads children through an engaging quiz designed to teach them about personal data protection and the risks of the online world. Through the quiz, children learn the meaning of personal data, how to handle it responsibly, recognize online scams, take appropriate actions when they suspect fraud, and identify online bullying—a growing concern among young people. The primary goal is to empower children to manage their personal data responsibly, ensuring their safety and security in the digital age.

“Awareness of the importance of protecting personal data needs to be cultivated from a young age. It is crucial to continuously educate children and discuss this very important topic with them, especially today when young people are spending more time online. The right to personal data protection is a fundamental human right, and personal data is an invaluable asset that must be treated accordingly. This is something we must also teach our children,” said Director Vukić, thanking the principal of Rapska Elementary School for the ongoing collaboration.

The Principal of Rapska Elementary School, Diana Dujmović, emphasized the importance of teaching children responsible behavior. “Since children are getting mobile phones at an increasingly younger age, we are exposing them to the world and numerous dangers hidden on the Internet. It is extremely important to educate children about safe and responsible online behavior. I commend this initiative by the Agency to provide children with specific knowledge and advice through a quiz.”

The idea for the quiz emerged during educational workshops for lower primary school students when it was observed that children often lack awareness of online dangers and readily share their own and others’ personal data. The quiz, created by the Agency, can be completed by children at school with their teachers or at home with parents or guardians, sparking important conversations on this topic. Therefore, all parents, guardians, and teachers are encouraged to try the quiz: https://azop.hr/kviz-naucimo-pravilno-stititi-nase-osobne-podatke/
