In the framework of the Croatian Presidency of the Council of the European Union in the first half of 2020, the Croatian Personal Data Protection Agency as a supervisory authority with investigative, corrective and advisory powers in the field of personal data protection is organising an international deep-dive conference Data Protection Day 2020: Facing New Challenges on 16th January 2020 in Zagreb.
In this manner, the Agency will contribute to the priority areas of the Croatian Presidency at the highest levels, especially in the context of preserving European democratic values, human rights and freedoms, development of the digital society, strengthening of the single digital market as well as economic growth.
The representatives of both public and private sector will have a possibility to discuss progress made towards increased personal data protection and opportunity for creating new values.
The conference is addressed at specialists whose daily life revolves around dealing with data protection issues e.g. entrepreneurs, legal advisers, specialist from EU institutions, as well as representatives of ministries, public bodies and institutions, academic community and NGOs.
Could GDPR be seen as a business opportunity in the data-driven economy? What is the impact of artificial intelligence across industries?
