The detailed programme will be published soon.

According to Article 6(2) of the AI Act, prior to the deployment of a high-risk AI system—with the exception of systems intended for use in the areas listed under point 2 of Annex IIIpublic authorities, private entities providing public services, and entities deploying high-risk AI systems listed under point 5(b) and 5(c) of Annex III, are required to conduct an assessment of the possible impact such systems may have on fundamental rights.

Given the challenges posed by this obligation, particularly for public sector bodies, the Agency has decided to support entities deploying high-risk AI systems by organizing a practical, example-based workshop illustrating how such an assessment could be carried out in practice.
More information on the methodology can be found at:

The workshop will be delivered and moderated by Professor Alessandro Mantelero from Politecnico di Torino, who developed the methodology in collaboration with partners and the Catalan Data Protection Authority.

This workshop is part of the Agency’s long-standing efforts to raise awareness of data protection and privacy as fundamental rights among all organisations that process personal data.

We highlight that all processing activities during all phases of AI system development and use must be compliant with the GDPR. Moreover, compliance with the GDPR is a prerequisite for compliance with the AI Act.

Important notes:

  • The workshop will be held exclusively in person; there is no option for online participation.

  • The workshop is primarily intended for entities planning to deploy high-risk AI systems, but is also open to all organisations developing or using AI systems, with a special focus on medium and high-risk systems. Priority will be given to such organisations during registration. If space allows, other interested participants may also be admitted.
